Even as a Floridian I can’t help but crave a different beach to lie on and deep blue to explore. The Caribbean is my favorite area of lush tropics and island culture to escape to and it’s only a short flight from my home peninsula. The last two visits have included Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and Peter Island and Scrub Island, British Virgin Islands. I often find myself taking cross-country red eyes from Los Angeles or San Francisco, California home to Tampa, Florida after work trips and am always dreading whether I’ll actually sleep or not.
