August is officially at its end and no matter how hard I try to fight it, fall keeps getting closer and closer; but the temperature around here keeps getting hotter and hotter. While the months may be telling us it’s time for fall, it’s still 100 degrees in LA and similar to life in Florida, there’s going to be a few weeks (maybe months) of summer-like weather before we can pull out the sweaters and OTK boots. I’m starting back up my Transition Into Fall series with outfit inspiration for how to incorporate fall styles with your summer wardrobe to help you transition into the season ahead. Let’s start with cropped flares.

Your New Go-To
Cropped flares are the ultimate go-to pants for transitioning into fall. The trend started to regain popularity towards the end of the summer and can easily be styled with some of your favorite fall pieces like ankle boots and an oversized sweater. In the meantime, pair yours with a chic and breezy pajama top (again, it’s 100 degrees here rn) and embellished mules for an everyday look that can take you from the office to drinks with the girls. I added a pop of color to my outfit with this gorgeous suede shoulder bag from All Saints that I’m sure you’ll see me wearing well into fall and even winter.
Do It Yourself
I was struggling to find a pair of cropped flares that I loved and that was within my budget. After making a couple of returns I found a YouTube video from Sydne Summer about how to make your own by simply cutting a pair of full-length flares – genius! I had this pair from last year that I hadn’t worn in months and this little DIY hack gave them a whole new life. Here’s the video for you to give it a try yourself: DIY Cropped Flares.
Are you ready for fall? A part of me is always excited for a new season but summer will always be my favorite. It’s been ungodly hot here in Los Angeles… Like Florida hot and even humid. I won’t lie – I kind of like it. 🙂 Sam and I are heading up to Lake Tahoe for the Labor Day holiday this weekend and I’m so excited! We’re going to spend some time exploring the area and taking in nature before I head to the city for New York Fashion Week. Who else is going to be in town for the shows? Make sure to let me know! I’d love to connect!
